Nacka Aula is getting a new stage curtain — and I had the great joy of being allowed to design it.
My proposal was selected by a jury. The design has its inspiration in the graphic and visual language of the 1960s, the era in which the building was completed and designed by the architects Backström & Reinius. Their architecture has a clear, modernist clarity and sense of proportion, which has been an important reference.
With a background in both interior architecture and textile design, I have worked in a cross-disciplinary way — where composition, color and structure work together to allow the curtain to become an integrated part of the aula's whole.
