A SPACE FOR REFLECTION

_the return of light or sound waves from a surface_

_a thought, idea, or opinion formed or a remark made as a result of meditation_

_consideration of some subject matter, idea, or purpose_

My starting point for this project was the reflections of a piece of shiny metal found in the trash. I wanted to explore how I can work with reflections in designing a furniture but also in a spatial context.

Inspired by my own ongoing photo project where I examine spatiality

and light, I have created a space for reflection, existing of a chair and a room divider of steel wire and wool - a material that works excellent as a sound absorber.

In the chair I have worked both with the surface and the silhouette within my inspiration.

Working with wool, I have examined different structures in weaving, fulling and quilting to imitate the surfaces and reflections that I found in my surroundings.
